Winter Trails Day is in its 17th year nationwide. The program is designed to give children and adults new to snow sports the chance to try snowshoeing and cross-country skiing for free, and to discover the great fitness and social benefits of these easy-to-learn winter sports. The Homestead offers a two-hour group lesson for each sport. The group will travel into the beautiful Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore on the Bay View Trail that adjoins The Homestead property.
The program includes a national park pass, equipment overview, instructions on how to dress warmly and fundamentals on cross-country skiing and/or snowshoeing. Crystal Mountain’s Boarder Camp offers experienced snowboarders, ages 10 and up, the opportunity to improve their skills in the terrain par. Crystal’s expert coaching staff will provide the latest techniques in a safe and fun environment. Riders will be grouped by age and ability. Camp includes coaching, video analysis, tuning clinic and lunches.
