Boyne Highlands – Middle Earth Skier/Boarder X Competition – February 23, 2014

The Middle Earth crew is making a stop at Boyne Highlands to check out the best Skier/Boarder X track in Northern Michigan (OK, it’s probably the best track in the Midwest but we hate to brag).  Yes indeed, Middle Earth will be holding a Skier/Boarder X competition and if you have the “Kahoneys” to line it up with other racers and “point it” when the gate falls this is for you.  It’s pretty simple, racers will make their way through a course filled with banked turns, jumps and rollers, the first racer through the finish line will be crowned CHAMPION!  Do you have what it takes?  This event is open to skiers and snowboarders of all ages.

All competitors must be a USASA member.

Boyne Highlands – 2nd Annual Vintage Shred – March 1, 2014

Dust off your favorite old school snowboard and pull out your vintage gear for a celebration of an era gone by. Come celebrate the 2nd Annual Vintage Shred at Boyne Highlands Resort on Saturday, March 1, 2014. This fun filled “shred-fest” will include a banked slalom course, method-air competition and vintage free-ride. Prizes will be awarded as part of the competitions as well as for the best vintage outfits.

All are welcome to attend, but snowboards should be 1991 or earlier to compete. We learned last year that vintage bindings don’t age quite as well as boards, so we aren’t too picky about these!
After a day on the slopes the fun will move indoors for a legendary Zoo Bar party featuring the sounds of 80s rock band Starfarm. Starfarm will bring the most awesome collection of 80s songs you can dream of.

Weekend packages are available. Call 800.462.6963 or visit BOYNE Reservations.
