We finally got enough snow to start building the base and setting tracks! Our team compacted, rolled, and set classic tracks from Glen Arbor to Empire. The entire trail between Glen Arbor and Empire is also perfect for fat tire biking.
Pictured above: Volunteer Tim Dowd and Executive Director Laura Ann Johnson, who had the opportunity to ride along and assist with grooming from the Dune Climb to Empire.
Ski Conditions
Empire to Glen Arbor: About 6 inches of powder compacted into a 2-inch base. These are the best conditions for skate skiing on our trail so far! With more snow in the forecast, we’re optimistic that the base will continue to grow.
Glen Arbor to Lawr Farm by Wheeler Road: 6 inches of fresh powder. We’re planning to groom this section later this week, aiming to have it ready for the weekend.
Dune Climb Sledding: Conditions look great for sledding today! Snow is covering all the sand.

FROM Friends of Valley Spur >> 1/14, sorry this is so late posting. John had the Kubota down on B trail taking down trees that the Kubota can't fit under. John plans a full groom for wednesday with the Kubota. VS is currently in Blizzard mode right now. The Forest Service is using the parking lot today due to training across the street with snowmobiles. The trails have some accumulation of snow on yesterday's groom. The lodge is open until 4 pm. #valleyspur #SkiMichigan

Due to Crawford AuSable School closure, today's Free Ski Program is cancelled. ❌🎿
🌕 Full Moon Snowshoe Hike - Tonight at 6 PM! 🌕
Time: 6 PM
Location: Hanson Hills Lodge
Details: Snowshoes optional! We'll hike up to the Overlook, where a bonfire and beautiful views of Grayling await.
Round Trip Distance: ~2 miles.

Groomer Dan is combing trails this morning, and we're close to setting tracks.
💚 All Trails: Green, Blue, Brown, Yellow, and Easy Return will be combed today.
🔴 Red Trail: Will be rolled again today — please avoid using it as we prepare for the Cote Dame.

Course: We’re planning on a full course, depending on how the Red Trail sets up.
