Snow Stars
The Snow Stars program is designed to teach young children to ski. Our children’s program instructors use the latest in teaching techniques to permit your child to progress to their highest ability. We know that children need to have fun first and that each child’s skiing development is unique and depends on experience, individual abilities and interests.
We encourage 3 year olds to be enrolled in the 1/2 day program only or the Ski & Play program. Please note that program enrollment closes thirty minutes prior to lesson time. Early registration is encouraged.

Snow Comets
Similar to our Snow Stars program, Shanty Creek’s Snow Comets program is designed to teach your 3 year old how to ski. Through games and props, children are taught basic skiing maneuvers and are encouraged to progress at their own pace.

Ski & Play
Ski and Play is an option within the Snow Stars program for 3-5 year olds. Ski and Play offers a morning group ski lesson combined with an afternoon where children can relax, play and even nap in our safe, nurturing and fun children’s center. Children will ski in the morning, have lunch with their ski instructor and then be escorted to the Children’s Center at Summit Village for the afternoon. Please call our Children’s Center at 800.678.4111 to make reservations, as space is limited for this program.

Snow Angels
Snow Angels is a program similar to Snow Stars but with more individualized attention. The class sizes are limited to no more than three children to one instructor. The small class size allows students to progress and develop their skiing skills more quickly. Price includes rental equipment and no charge lift ticket. Available most weekends and holidays. Program enrollment closes thirty minutes prior to lesson time. Early registration is encouraged
Smart Riders
For aspiring snowboarders, half day programs start at 10:00 am and 1:30 pm. Children 8 and under board free and must obtain a no charge lift ticket. Lift ticket is not included for children 9 – 12. Program enrollment closes thirty minutes prior to lesson time. Early registration is encouraged.

Kids Academy
Kids will ski in a group with an instructor for the day. Classes combine skiing instruction with fun and games designed to aid learning. Groups are divided according to skiing ability. Tubing is a speedy downhill thrill for your whole crew on Schuss Mountain’s north face. Located in Cedar River Village, SCR’s five-lane tubing park is fun for kids, families, groups and non-athletes.
Tickets are limited each hour; sessions begin at the top of the hour and may be purchased at the Summit Village Snowsports Center, Schuss Snowsports Center, Nordic Center or the Cedar River Tubing Park Window.
Please note: All children under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign a release of liability form.
